L’Occitane Peony Petal Cleansing Oil

Remember when nobody used cleansing oils? When the thought of putting oil on your face was HECK NO? Ahh, the simple skincare days of yesteryear, when all you needed was a bar of Dove to wash your face with…  😛

If you are like me and wear sunscreen every day, then you need a good cleansing oil to remove it, and your makeup, especially if you use a long-wearing formula. I don’t know about you, but If I put something on my face that says it lasts 15, or 18, or 24 hours, then I wanna make damn sure it’s off when I cleanse. And that means a cleansing oil is needed. L’Occitane Peony Petal Cleansing Oil($39) is my new favourite one and it works really well!

It has no pump, which may sound weird for a cleansing oil not to have. But L’Occitane Peony Petal Cleansing Oil has one of those soft plastic bottles that you can squeeze, and I think that’s kind of awesome. I actually really prefer this compared to a pump. I can control the amount of cleansing oil I need way better than with a pump, so that means no product wasting.

It has a faint floral scent, but nothing too overpowering for me. I actually really enjoy the scent. But what really sold me on this cleansing oil is the texture. It’s so soft and thick and sublime feeling-it’s amazing! It just glides over skin like no other oil I’ve tried. It’s like liquid velvet! And it does a great job at removing makeup-heck, I even use it to remove mascara and it doesn’t bug my eyes or clog them up with oil. It emulsifies quickly with water, rinses off with no residue, and leaves my skin feeling soft.

It’s a pretty cleansing oil as well, with peony petals that are picked, dried and hand placed in every bottle. Oh, and the main oil is sunflower oil in case you were wondering.

I like it! And now I miss their Almond Oil Shower Gel…

Are you a L’Occitane Fan? I wish there was a store a bit closer to me, as I kind of forget about how lovely their products are.

  1. This does sound delightful. Can you not get the full line at Sephora? I’ve never looked for it, but I’ve seen their hand lotions there…
I’m always a little nervous using oil around my eyes but glad to hear this one fares well with the mascara. I don’t use waterproof stuff but it does seem fairly resilient when I try to cleanse. Hey have you had any experience with the Perricone stuff?

    1. It’s a really nice one! I’m about half way through now, and I’ll probably get another one since it’s not too expensive. Although, part of me want to try a drugstore one, which I think is more likely what I’ll do because I gotta find out if they’re any good!
